19.0. "Mixed doc submissions -- call for requirements" by TNPUBS::PHALEN () Fri Aug 18 1995 18:08

SSB plans to be able to receive mixed submissions of text and covers 
for technical documentation by the end of Q2.  This is a call for your 
business requirements in that area.

Mixed document submissions include but are note limited to:

     *  Mixed  formats (electronic covers and hardcopy text, film covers
        and electronic text, etc.)

     *  Covers sent to manufacturing before the text is ready

     *  Creating one set of color separations for the graphic on a set of
        documents and supplying separate text layers for each cover.

There are mixed submissions going on now but these are done on an 
exception basis.  In order to develop business practices that will be suitable 
for all kinds of mixed submissions, SSB has formed a team to identify 
company-wide requirements.

I am representing SES on that team and I need your help.  Please let 
me know what kinds of mixed submissions capability you need.  We are working 
very fast and I would like to hear from you by Thursday 24 August so 
that the team can start useful work.  I will, of course, use any information I 
receive after the 24th as well.
