    As many of you may have heard, I have resigned from Digital effective
    next Friday.  I am trying to take next week as vacation, so this is
    effectively my last week here.
    
    I joined NaC Pubs in September 1986 (the same day as Betty Lew and two
    weeks after Kathleen Warner).  In that time I worked for Guy Fisher and
    Neville Fleet, Kathleen and Dick Sweeney, Denny Dixon and Don
    Skarzenski, Mick Schonhut and Dave McKiernan.  Obviously, I was a
    handful.  I helped document the Distributed Queuing Software, RMBS,
    DECnet Monitor, DECmcc, DEChub, SNA Peer Server, and PATHWORKS.  
    
    I got to work with many top-flight professionals, from whom I learned
    much. And I got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a Consulting
    Writer. Both are things I cherish; it is very hard to walk away from
    them.  But for me, the right thing to do is to move on.
    
    I wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors, wherever they
    might be.  I will take with me fond memories and friendships.
