Karl installed the Doctor utility on TNPUBS. The following is an extract from 
the help file. For more information type HELP DOCTOR. He has also added the 
Bookreader files to the Bookreader library on TNPUBS.



DOCTOR


    ( This is an internal tool - not to be given to customers. )

    DOCTOR is a utility to manipulate some of the files used or created
    by VAX DOCUMENT. It is a combination of three individual tools:

      - insert blank pages into a PostScript document to balance the number
        of odd/even pages, to extract a subset of pages or to replace the
        PostScript prolog. (Command: DOCTOR/PS).
      - produce a list of all files referenced by the main document file
        (and any nested file), to produce a DEC/MMS description file to
        rebuild the document, to produce a list of all index tags.
        (Command: DOCTOR/SDML).
      - to produce a formatted list of all labels and their text from an
        XREF file produced during bookbuilding. (Command: DOCTOR/XREF).
      - to update the SDML sources to make them suitable for BOOKREADER
        output.
      - to produce SDML source files from VMS Message definition files.
        (Command: DOCTOR/MESSAGE).
   
    To use DOCTOR, you must define the following symbol into your login
    file:

       DOCTOR :== $TOOLS$668:[TOOLS]DOCTOR

    The allowed qualifiers and parameters depend on the functionality
    activated.
