50.0. "Interleaf Use Guide Changes." by WORDY::HALLOWELL (It's been a slow decade.) Mon Dec 03 1990 09:13

Hopefully we have all found the T&N Interleaf TPS Use Guide helpful in
our dealings with Interleaf. As a new writer I needed exposure to most
all of the topics covered in the guide when I joined the group, so
I've used it extensively.

As can be expected, there have been changes made to the way T&N Pubs
uses Interleaf, changes that make the Use Guide outdated. There are
also one or two corrections that can be made to the guide as well.

In an effort to keep the guide a "living document", this topic is
for corrections, updates, and suggested changes that can be made to
the guide. I will make the proper changes to the book on a regular
basis and then distribute the replacement pages via mail boxes. Since
the book is three-hole punched the change pages can be incorporated
into all books easily.

50.1Add more to creating ASCII file sectionWORDY::J_GOLDSTEINHome of the two-headed dinosaurMon Dec 03 1990 16:2213
    You probably should correct the procedure for creating ASCII files.
    Right now, it says to just save in ASCII format. What you really want
    to do is save in ASCII format and then run it through the stripfilt
    filter. This takes out most of the INTERLEAF code.

    Obvious to regular users, but not to the new ones.

    (This should be a change to page 11-2).

    regards,

50.2CCD can't help over the phone.WORDY::HALLOWELLIt's been a slow decade.Tue Dec 04 1990 15:3412

    RE: .1	Thanks Joan. I'll make that much needed change.

    In addition, the CCD has asked me to modify the section on Getting
    Started on page 2-4. With the recent shift in standard operating
    procedures, getting an Interleaf support analyst to help over the phone
    is unlikely. Everything should be done via mail and the TARGET problem
    reporting software the CCD uses.

    I'll make the change.
