    Problem: When using the numident option in <message_type>, the current
    behavior is to set a 4 pica box into which the message ident must fit.
    In the case of a longer ident, such as Local -209-, the message text
    will overwrite the hyphen. 
    
    The textident tossed in a comma separator and is unacceptable.
    
    Proposed solution: Change the \numident macro so that it makes a text
    block the size of the message. This includes indenting the message text
    by that amount.
    
    If all of the messages are the same size in a document, there will be
    no visible change. If there are mesages Local -99-, folowed by a Local
    -100-, you will see an extra character indent.
    
    
    As an aside, I'll start to have each Doctype that we own print out a
    Name and version number so we can track revisions to the doctypes. This
    version will be TaN Soft V1.00-07, picking up from bjc's edit history.
