25.0. "Storyboard Catalogs" by LEAF::SAHAGIAN () Wed Mar 14 1990 08:55

Question:

We cannot get the EXH:T component to start the numbering correctly
: for example, the first exhibit of Chapter 1 says Exhibit 2-1 instead
of 1-1. Jim just changed the catalog, which helped. The exhibit used
to say 5-1. There used to be three chapters before ch1 (front matter
stuff), but since then I learned that you need to put those in a
sub book. Anyway, we tried manipulating the number stream to get it
to restart. No luck. Says the catalog is where you have to go. We
couldn't do anything in the catalog that would help.

   Any ideas?

The catalog I had originally was the 7x9 storyboard. Now we are using
   the 8.5x11 struc doc catalog.

Answer:

Try searching for "exhibit" auto numbers to see if any exist in any of
your documents where they shouldn't. Also, make sure that you go into
the page properties of each document and change the page prefix to the
    correct chapter number.

Question:

BTW, I am making a storyboard. Do I have to use the storyboard catalog?
I want to be able to use the storyboard chapters for the book rather
than creating additional book chapters and starting all over. How do
   you deal with that?

Answer:

You should use the storyboard catalog when you are creating storyboards.
Use the storyboard template to create each of your chapters. Then, when
you are converting your storyboards to structured documentation chapters,
merely cut out the storyboard catalog and copy/link the structured
documentation catalog. When you open your chapters, they will
automatically take on the properties of the structured documentation
catalog because all the component names are the same between the two. The
difference is that the structured documentation catalog has quite a few
more components.
