15.1WinHelp 4.0 Authoring booksTNPUBS::ICENOGLEKathyThu Jan 18 1996 10:2523
1. Microsoft Windows 95 Help Authoring Kit (ISBN: 1-55615-892-0)

        This kit contains a book on authoring Windows 95 help, as well
        as a CDROM containing the new help compiler, online help for
        the compiler, and other tools. It costs $49.95 plus shipping
        and handling, and is available from Microsoft Press
        (phone 1-800-MS-PRESS).

2. Help Author's Guide, or HAG (from HCW.HLP)

        This guide is provided in Winhelp format and is part of
        the Help Workshop, which is provided in the MS Win32 SDK, or the
	Microsoft Windows 95 Help Authoring Kit. Jack Downing
        has created a PS file of the HAG, which you can copy and
        print. It is located in:

	tnpubs::public$disk:[public.winhelp.tools]HAG.PS
	\\TNPUBS\WINHELP\TOOLS\HAG

You should also see the documentation provided with either
RoboHelp 95, or Doc-to-Help V2.0. (Several procedures are
tool-specific.)
15.2STC Newsletter .hlpDEMON::GOVONIWed Jan 31 1996 10:4814
    I received a pointer to an STC web site from Karl Harkarainen.
    I pulled a newsletter, which is formatted as a help file,
    and placed it in:

    	\\tnpubs\public\winhelp\stc.hlp

    In addition to it being a creative presentation of a newsletter,
    it has an article comparing Robohelp to Doc-to-Help. Frankly, I saw
    nothing in the article that hasn't already been noted by the
    Robohelp and D2H users. But it's a good comparison for those
    of you unfamiliar with either or both tools.

    Regards,
