49.0. "Mailing list membership" by HYEND::KRISHNASWAMY (There is a divine providence in the fall of a sparrow) Mon Jul 13 1992 10:56

I recently received mail from someone who was selling the mailing list for
an annual fee. The person also seems to be handling the next get-together.

IF this is being run by a H-B alumni, more power to him/her. But if it
is a scam by an "outsider".....

Has anyone else received the note, and does anyone know what the scoop
    is?

I've received two things from whoever this is. The first was a flier
advertising a book of names/addresses of other Honeywell/Bull alumni.
The second was an invitation to a get-together at the end of July (at
$20 or $30 per person, depending on if one had subscribed to the book).

    I don't know who's doing this -- they're using a company name that is
completely unfamiliar to me. While I'd like a copy of the book, I'm
not willing to pay a lot for it. Likewise with the party. I think
I'll just keep on attending the semi-annual mostly-software gathering
and getting Marty Greenfield's address list twice a year at $1 each.
49.2Started by Walt OrlowFSOA::MCOHENTue Jul 14 1992 13:0310
The people who created the alumni directory contacted me a while back
to be included in the directory. The first directory was free, and
subsequent updates are for a fee, I don't remember the amount.

When I asked how they got started on it, I was told that Walt Orlow had
started them on the project of compiling the alumni list. I don't know
if this meant that Bull (if Walt is still there) provided some initianl
    funding or not.
