    I wonder how many of you read the article on the NEC supercomputer.
    (The US Govt., "persuaded" MIT to buy CRAY instead.) 
    Anyway, the article referred to "Honeywell - NEC" that was trying
    to sell the computers in the US. 
    Question - is the reference to BULL (in which NEC and H have shares
    still) or is there an independent agreement between Honeywell
    (corporate, not Bull) and NEC?

|     Honeywell-NEC Supercomputers was a separate venture set up back
    in about the 1985/86 timeframe to market the NEC Supercomputers
    in the US.  Jim Barrett, who had left Honeywell Information Systems
    to be President (or something) at Compugraphics and was fired from
    CG, was named CEO for H-N Supercomputers.  As the article in the
    Globe mentioned, the joint venture is in trouble, and if the new
    machine in NEC doesn't make it, the venture will probably be shut
    down.  
    
    Another computer failure for Honeywell.   Sigh.......
