For all you Honeywell stock owners I read last night in Computer System News that Unisys was going to attempt to buy out Honeywell, that's the reason the stock shot up last week. Analysits say the takeover value of the stock is between $120-$150. Peter (who_just_placed_an_order_to_sell_@_$75_but_might_change_his_mind)

Re .0: I've heard the rumor two different ways. First I heard that UNISYS was buying [all of] Honeywell. Later I heard that only the Federal Systems Division was being sold. (If I were UNISYS, I'd do the latter; why would I want to buy back the Avionics Division that I unloaded on Honeywell a couple of years back?) | |||||
26.2 | BULL/HONEYWELL market performance? | NETMAN::KRISHNASWAMY | Be cool, stay in the groove, say YO | Mon Mar 27 1989 13:00 | 13 |
For old times sake.... Is BULL traded on the exchange? If so how did it do after the latest "hi-tech doldrums"? How is HONEYWELL doing as a corp? BTW, for those of us who might have some stake in the "retirement plan" is that affected in any way by a) Honeywell's financial position at the time we might collect (Ha) or by b) any mergers/acqusitions? This is slightly off Krishna's subject, but... I recently attended a conference with a former coworker, who is, amazingly, still employed at Bull HN. His assessment of the company is: Bull as a whole -- doing very well, thank you. Computer sales in Europe are strong. Bull HN -- doing well, thanks to unexpectedly strong sales of high-end systems built in Phoenix. Boston Computer Operations (Billerica) -- doing horribly; products for 1988-89 all slipped out to 1990! Seen in this context, the recent decimation layoff makes more sense. |
