16.0. "DPS 6/7/8 Convergence" by DELNI::JONG (Steve Jong/NaC Pubs) Mon Sep 21 1987 11:40
There is an article in the September 1, 1987 Datamation (p. 20) on how
users are reacting to the eventual merging of Honeywell Bull's DPS 6,
7, and 8 lines. The tenor of the article was that users aren't
concerned, either about the convergence or the company's long-term
viability. Actually, the article was pretty upbeat. Given
Datamation's harsh treatment of Honeywell in the past, I was surprised.

| The other way to view customers' lack of concern about either the
convergence or long-term viability issues is that they don't expect
to be customers for long enough to be impacted.
I'd like to think they have great confidence that Honeywell Bull will
(finally) get its act together into a single set of product offerings
AND find its niche in the computer business, but I'm doubtful.
