4.0. "Newco has a name" by RIVEST::KINDEL (Bill Kindel) Thu Apr 02 1987 10:53

    In case anyone hadn't heard, Honeywell Information Systems, Inc. has
    the long-awaited new name. With great originality, the name is
    "HoneywellBull" (no space). One wag decided it should be punctuated
    as "Honeywell?Bull!". His name has been omitted to protect his
    reputation.

4.1A schism already?LDP::BUSCHThu Apr 02 1987 13:397
    Not that it makes a whole heck of a lot of difference, but according
    to the full page ad on page 38 of the March 31st Wall Street Journal,
    there is a space between Honeywell and Bull. Perhaps they are trying
    to distance themselves from their new partners.

4.2Sign of the timesLDP::BUSCHMon Apr 27 1987 11:536
    Rumor has it that "they" will be converting the company sign in
    front of the Concord Road plant to the new logo in blue and green
    this week.

4.3Will They Auction Off the Old Sign?DELNI::JONGSteve Jong/NaC PubsMon Apr 27 1987 11:591
    I live next door. I'll let you know.
4.4Another use for the sign.LDP::BUSCHMon Apr 27 1987 12:576
    Don't know about auctioning, but they might try attaching chains
    and leg irons to the stone work to keep the remaining employees
    from abandoning the "sinking" ship. ];^)

    Re .4:

    That seems to imply
    	a) Low morale, which is not borne out by some of *my* contacts
    at Middlesex Turnpike. In fact spirits seem to be *abnormally* high!
    	b) There is a mass exodus?

    	If true, that is sad.

4.7MoraleDELNI::JONGSteve Jong/NaC PubsTue Apr 28 1987 10:494
    Morale? It depends on who you ask. In my old group, Tech Pubs,
    which as I said was laid off en masse, morale is utterly shattered.
    Then again, I have a friend in Wlatham who reports it's business
    as usual there. Krishna says things in ASD are good [.6].
4.8No New Sign YetDELNI::JONGSteve Jong/NaC PubsFri May 01 1987 11:074
    I swung by the Billerica facility this morning. The sign on Concord
    Road is still there. The sign at the demonstration center entrance,
    however, is gone. At the fork in the access road, there is a banner
    that says "Honeywell Bull."
4.9Signs Are Up!DELNI::JONGSteve Jong/NaC PubsSun May 03 1987 00:004
    This evening, I see that the new signs are installed at the Concord
    Road facility. The sign is midnight blue, with white lettering
    ("Honeywell Bull") and a light-green underscore. Looks good,
    actually...
4.10ULTRA::KINDELBill KindelMon May 04 1987 09:592
    Not much question where the color scheme came from. I wonder if
    the tree/grid design will appear in the near future.
4.11More New SignsULTRA::KINDELBill Kindel @ LTN2Sat May 23 1987 11:138
    I see that the new signs are becoming more populous. CSD (Newton) has
    had its new sign for several days now. The big sign facing 128 behind
    200 Smith Street has had its "Honeywell" removed and will presumable
    read "Honeywell Bull" early next week.

    I suspect that part of the reason for the underscore in the new logo is
    to retain an aspect ratio close to that of the old "Honeywell" logo.
    This should make sign replacement much easier.
4.12BullULTRA::KINDELBill Kindel @ BXB1Thu Feb 02 1989 10:243
    After a year or so as "Honeywell Bull", I noticed that the big sign
    that faces I95/128 from 200 Smith Street now says simply "Bull"
    and includes the green tree on grid logo.
4.13More BullNETMAN::KRISHNASWAMYGod abhors a naked singularityThu Feb 02 1989 12:2910
    Along the same lines,

    I noticed that the Brighton billboard facing the Mass. Pike
    says "KNOW BULL"
    Kinda cute, when you stop to think about it.

    I guess "H.I.S" is now finally gone (but not forgotten, I hope!)

    What does the "HN" stand for?
4.16HNCSG001::MCOHENMon Feb 06 1989 11:435
    My assumption is that it stands for Honeywell and NEC, but its just
    a guess on my part.
