5319.0. "OK, I'm impressed" by 56696::"[email protected]" (Dan Notov) Thu Jun 05 1997 20:59

Just opened this month's WIRED magazine & start flipping through the pages.
Right
there on page 84 is a nice two page DIGITAL advert with Marc Andreessen of
Netscape.

The Webmaster's Prayer:
May your content be hot.
Your graphics be cool.
And your servers be DIGITAL.

Kudos for getting this testimonial in the right place at the right time!
Is there a Television version?

Digital has always had a "strange and wonderful"
        relationship with Netscape.

Netscape is clearly much more Sun-focused, with new product
developments and first releases always available on Solaris
and only sometimes on Digital UNIX.

On the other hand, I'm sure that Digital UNIX is clearly the
hottest performing platform for their servers -- they need us
        to look their best.

I suspect that Netscape's ambivalence towards Digital (we
were also Netscape's first OEM to sign up) is part history
and part our apparently close relationship to Netscape's
        arch-rival, Microsoft.

So I'm glad to see some cooperation with Netscape in our
advertising, but I wonder how much this really means.

I don't know, but it's in the mainstream press too. Including Wall Street
Journal and Newsweek (!)
