5249.0. "Lose the header" by CSC32::GULDEN () Sun Apr 20 1997 01:31

     I will soon be an exchange user. I really dislike all the header info
    that proceeds a mail message. Is there anyway to disable it? Seems like
    a one line message is 2 pages away.

5249.1What headers are you referring to?37030::FPRUSSFrank Pruss, 202-232-7347Sun Apr 20 1997 09:387
    Wes,

    Why don't you revisit this after you are an Exchange user.

    You will need to go through a small hoop to be ABLE to see the headers!

    If by 'headers' you mean the 'display names' that you see when you're
    reading a message just do View and de-select Full Header.

    I think Frank is talking about the recipient info where in order to
    get the actual internet email address (if there is one) in reading
    a message you need to do File -> Properties -> Recipients, select the
    recipient of interest and then do Properties. A pain in the patushka,
    but at least there is a way to do it.

    When you are reading a message, you can double click on any name in the
    From:, To: and Cc: area's to get to the properties for that name.

5249.4I don't think the "problem" exists in Exchange37030::FPRUSSFrank Pruss, 202-232-7347Mon Apr 21 1997 00:0011
    Yabbut...

    .0 mentioned a fear that these headers would be "forced" on you. (As
    they may be when reading an "Internet" message using a VMS or UNIX user
    agent.)

    Exchange "hides" them, requiring proper incantations of mouse or
    keyboard actions to review them.

    And, of course, for Exchange to Exchange Mail, there is not much that is
    useful in the way of headers.

    	You mean you can't do that on a HiNote? Why not?

    	How about a right click and drag down to "Properties"?

    I don't know, but I took it to be a comment about the speed of said
    operation.

    	Oh, THAT "eventually".

    	I'll fire up a RAS connection on my Twinhead and report back
    	[120MHz, 16MB].

    Yes, *that* eventually!

    	Well, I would have tried but I couldn't get Exchange to connect.
