With Samsung Electronics joining as a second source for Alpha processors, the
price of Alpha workstations should only continue to drop.  And once they
drop into the $3000 range, whihc Digital Semiconductor projects should happen
within the next year, Alpha systems will become an enticing option.   With
FX32 (sic) keeping all that x86 software compatible, chances are you'll never
miss that old "Intel Inside" sticker anyway.
