    AV itself has a text-only mode which reduces the irritation factor
    of ads considerably.
    
    Communicator 4 has a nice option for defeating all cookie setting
    attempts. 
    
    Also there are 3rd party softwares to manage the whole cookie
    bin.
    
    In addition, there are ad-removing services which make AV and other 
    ad-bearing sites much less annoying.

If you enter "Scientology" or "Dianetics" as a search string, you get an ad
for Scientology.  I'd really question how good of a move that is...
