It's striking me that many enterprises that are our clients, prospective clients, or past clients lack wholehearted respect for Digital today; but that nonetheless, they're delighted to hire competent people who've worked for Digital, especially ones who've been on the firing line at ground level. I can think of many examples. ___Pete

And often, we drive away whole teams of people by letting them work long and hard on a project and then cancelling it when it was at or near completion. I remember a fellow in Tewksbury some years ago who had his rsum posted outside his cube. It listed a whole bunch of projects where he'd labored long and hard (it contained Gemini and, I think, the 11/74, Bluefish, and some others). His objective? "To work on a product that actually ships!" One might also add: "and which is aggressively marketed rather than p**ssed away." Atlant | |||||
