4622.0. "Looking for info on awards Digital has won" by DEMON::CRAMER () Tue May 28 1996 16:35

	Hello all,

My group is developing a CDROM for potential college hires
and wanted to create a little montage of awards Digital has
won. Can anybody out there tell me of any award(s) you
or your group have won? If you have a photo of the award,
we'd like that too. Of course, we need the info yesterday
(by the end of the week of May 31, really...)

	Thanks in advance,

	Mai Cramer

RE: <<< Note 4622.0 by DEMON::CRAMER >>>

There are a couple of glass cases full of award-type things in the ZKO
cafeteria in Nashua NH. If you're nearby, you could come and check them out.

Another bunch can be found in the MSO2 Customer Visit Center...

... and there's the new ones recently won by AltaVista Forum (when it
was known as Workgroup Web Forum)...

... and there's GOTTA be a whole slew of even newer ones still rolling
    in for AltaVista Search itself...

Though where these latter batches are, is anyone's guess.

4622.4Fact Sheet on Digital EHS awardsJGODCL::ISERIEFWed May 29 1996 09:4112
There is a so-called fact sheet of Corporate Environmental, Health &
Safety (EHS) titled: "Digital's EHS Awards and Recognitions" in VTX
Integrated Repository (IR), listing awards from 1990 onwards. In VTX IR
the DOC ID number is ST019M. You can retrieve and print the document.

The Digital Intranet also offers this (and 17 more) EHS Fact Sheets (in
    3 languages). Location: http://www.imc.das.dec.com/ehs/factsheet
    Also retrievable to your PC.

    Good luck,
    Hans

the former groups(S) known as everything from Tech Docs to ESDP to IDC
won many awards for top of the line documentation and instructioanl
design from the Society of Technical Communicators
( I even remember an award that put DEC with the top three
when it came to user documumentation) But finding anyone from IDC that knows
where these awards are may be a problem. In fact finding anyone from
IDC AT ALL may be a problem.

Some of us are still here. :-) In fact, Mai is a member of the group (now known
as SES - Shared Engineering Services) as well, if I'm not mistaken...

Society for Technical Communication (STC) awards are given to individuals
(authors, editors, artists), rather than to companies, as far as I know. I have
a couple of them (she said modestly :-) ), and they're inscribed only with my
name; no reference to Digital. So STC awards may not be what Mai is looking for
(then again, they may, if she's looking to recruit technical communicators :-) ).
