4617.0. "Internet Document location?" by MARIN::ARVIND (Fix BUGS.. Call BUGS Bunny) Thu May 23 1996 15:46

There was a document called 'Getting Started on Internet' produced
by Information Design and Consulting(IDC) way back in December 1994.

Is there any updates to this guide ? Also where can I get a postscript
    copy of this document ?

    Thanks

If it's the same one done by the group I was part of (which was IM&T,
but the actual writers were from IDC), then -- independent of its
excellence at the time -- it is woefully out of date if it hasn't been
revised. No, that's NOT a redundancy, I'm just tired. What I *mean*
is that it is probably not worth reading at this point, since it would
fill your head with complexities which by this time have been papered
    over by superior code.

    jmho of course.

The document was revised/updated in March, 1996. It is now a very
short, beginner document, which leaves out a lot of the outdated stuff
and extraneous material that Dan refers to in the previous note.

You can find it on the Digital Internal Home Page:

	http://homepage.das.dec.com

or, on the Internet Solutions Group (ISG) homepage at:

	http://www-iu.ako.dec.com

or, copy it from this VMS system:

	bagels::wsg_public:getting-started-internet.txt (or .ps)

Joyce
