    I am looking at a pair of CD-ROMs dated March 1996 entitled 
    "MDS Hardware Documentation".  Volume 1 is labelled "Base Systems" and
    Volume 2 is labelled "Peripherals, Networks, FCOs". 
    
    They are tremendously useful as they contain a huge amount of 
    system/peripheral illustrated parts guides in PDF format plus
    the Acrobat reader.
    
    They are obviously issued by Digital but apart from that, there is no
    indication of who produces them nor how to receive them by regular
    subscription.   Anyone know who I should contact for official
    information on these CD's?

	This sounds like DAS (Digital Assisted Services) material. It is sold to
self maintenance customers as one off or subscription. Their email address for
part number enquires was MPRS @MKO a couple of years ago.

	Failing that check out the Methods and Tools service menu offer.

this title. You may want to get in touch with one or both of them.

	MPRS (Maintenance Products Recommendation Service) provides a
	list of tools, test equipment and spares which are required to
	support a given configuration at 90, 95 or 98% LOS. A part number
	is required for an MPRS. (MPRS@MKO or [email protected])
	
	Part Number Assistance at 1-800-digital is another service
	offered by DAS which offers assistance in finding a part number
	for the part you need. ([email protected])
	
	The MDS page, off the above link, describes the service and
	provides a link to part number and pricing information.
