Do not presume that the ISBU will necessarily produce the same kind of
collateral as previous Digital business units.

| Are these products announced? I don't think so. I have NOT seen any
Sales Updates on these. Looking over at the INTERNET_TOOLS conference,
there's no ordering information either.
The only product in the Alta Vista suite is the Internet Tunnel
product. It's been out for awhile, however, the Personal, Workgroup,
and Enterprise editions are not available. There's a number of inquires
in the INTERNET_TOOLS conference but everyone is referred to the product
managers, see Note 3624.5.

| Both AltaVista Firewall and AltaVista Forum have been available for some time.
It's just the names that are new.

| Altavista Forum was called Workgroup Web Forum.
I assume that the Altavista Firewall product was the old SEAL products?

| Altavista Firewall is the old Digital Firewall for Unix. It's the
mid - level firewall offering in our 3-tier offering. The low end
is the Borderware Internet Server for Windows NT, and the
high end is the Digital Firewall service (formerly known as
SEAL).
AltaVista Manager is also shipping. It was formerly known
as Polycenter Assetworks. It layers on SMS from Microsoft
and performs asset management in a heterogeneous
networked systems environment.
Altavista Forum and the Altavista Tunnel are shipping products.
There are many futures for all of these products.
The other products are announced, but not shipping yet.

| Is someone going to tell staff and customers about this ? I have
interested Assetworks customers who were worried it got sold to CA
(because it was to do with Polycenter and Networks). Now I find it may
have changed its name. Marketing, where are you ? Internal comms,
where are you ?

So what is AltaVista Mail? Is this a new product or did it have a
former name (MailWorks?)?

David.

MAILbus Internet server and its related products have
been renamed to AltaVista Mail.
Mailbus Internet server is an SMTP and POP3 server.

4602.12 | Imus pitching Altavista | SMURF::JOHNF | | Fri May 24 1996 15:17 | 5 |
| I almost drove off the road today when I heard Imus in the
morning on WEEI clumsily trying to pitch Altavista after the
Altavista ad aired. But then again, this is a great leap for a
Digital product to get such air time. 8-)
