    Hello,

I am in search of reference accounts were the DECNIS and DECbrouter 90
are being used successfully in conjunction with MCI's frame relay
service. I have already tried the DECNIS notesfile with no responses.
    Thanks in advance.

| DECNIS and DECbrouter may have some nasty incompatibilities because of
the difference in proprietary frame relay and underlying data link
implementations. (Did you know, for example, that CISCO implements
"CHDLC" (CISCO Half Dulpex Line Control) as opposed to a standard HDLC
    implementation?)

So although IN THEORY the DECnis and DECbrouter may be able to talk IP
to IP or DECnet to DECnet etc., the underlying transports between the
line and network layer can get you.

I'd try the person in the Network Product Business Unit out of Denver
who supports MCI as a first point. His name is Jeff Riggen at DTN
592-5249 (I believe). He should be able to help you with this one.

p.s. MCI uses a LOT of DECnis in their internal network for their
production. The DECnis beats larger CISCO routers hands down and also
does 'router clusters' that let a router 'fail over' to another one in
the cluster. The result is the customer never knows that a large chunk
of network went away - and it keeps on ticking.

    Hope that helps,

| Go into VTX IR

    Choose option 3

In the Customer Endorsements section, type RF, then type DECNIS as your
    preference on the next page.

I believe there are about 18 matches for DECNIS. Customer
    Testimonials.
