4460.0. "Betty Spring Rd." by SALEM::STYVES () Sun Mar 03 1996 11:19

Does anyone know why DIGITAL paid $60,000.00 for property on
Betty Spring Road in Gardner, Massachusetts ?

Are you sure it was Betty Spring Road? This is close to the Westminster facility that was sold to Simplex.
Last I knew we were still leasing back some space there.

Yup! I have the clipping from the Worcester Telegram of March 3rd in my
hot little hand. Of course it could be a misprint but I doubt it.
An awful lot of us had been at WMO and come from that area so we are
    familar with that location.

Art,

Did it say who the land was bought from? I wonder if there was any kind of a land swap
	involved with the WMO sale?

I live in Gardner. When I first moved there I was hoping to someday get a job at WMO
so I could have a nice 15 minute commute.....

I haven't seen anything in the Gardner News yet.

Well... don't everyone get too excited now, for $60,000, I don't
imagine that the building or even just the land if that's what it
    was is all that large!

Is that how much the beaver dam cost?

RE .5

The dam is in Westminster and I think we still own it...

RE .4

I was not suggesting that a building I could work at would be going up. I was just
expressing that I was disappointed when WMO was sold.

My guess would be a small wharehouse there, if anything. Simplex bought WMO so
that they could consolidate several smaler leased sites. The space Digital is/was leasing
was only suppose to be temporary. If Simplex doesn't want to renew the lease and we still
need the wharehouse space a site on Betty Spring Road makes sense.

$60,000 gets you more in Gardner then it does in the GMA. That's why I live in Gardner.

What an interesting spello/typo. If it's a spello it's one thing, quite
another if it's a typo.

But I'm sure you're not that kind of guy.

Re: .7

Run that misspelling through MS Word and see what it suggests.... I have
to wonder what MS was thinking...
