| United States Cellular phone gives a discount to DEC employees (15%).
I'm in NH and have a cell phone from them. Not sure outside of New
England they cover.

| Somewhere in VTX (Livewire?) they list various Mass/NH companies that
offer Digital employees a discount. Like a local Burger King will
offer 10% off when you show your badge, etc. Check out VTX.

| Think of it in terms of "driving distance to HQ".
From Seattle, that whole area really does look like GMA, and
more to the point, when considering the topic at hand
(discounts available, etc.) that area is often SIGNIFICANTLY
different from other areas of the country (world) outside of GMA.

| RE: .2
I looked and looked in VTX and could not find a listing of Digital
Employee Discounts.
I know that there used to be such a listing and I believe that it
used to be found either under EMPLOYEE BENEFITS or PURCHASING
INFORMATION. However, I can't find this listing today!
This is probably another one of those things considered 'overhead'
and, therefore, no longer supported by HR and/or management

| The Southern NH VTX server has a local listing of discounts. There is no
corporate program for this that I am aware of so it's not surprising that
there is no corporate VTX page.

phone rate from Nynex. Does anyone know if this is still in effect and
who to call to get information?
Thanks

| In the MARES directory for 1995-1996, which I picked up in the
SHR cafeteria, there is an ad for Cellular 2001 (a NYNEX authorized
service agent) that states $11/month access rate with $.39/min peak
and $.29/min off-peak. It says, for additional info, to call Ron
Falkenstein at 508-536-2509.

They usually give you a very good deal on the phone ... some-
where between "free" and $30, depending on the phone and the
provider.

| This all sounds neat, but as was posted earlier the 508-xxx-xxxx number
is no longer in service. How does one get on this $11/month plan (or
can you provide a pointer to the appropriate note in UPSAR::CELLULAR)?
Thanks.

As .15 said, just tell the person when you are signing up that you are
an employee of Digital and that they are on the list for getting a
discounted rate.
When we bought our cell phone, that is what I did. The guy pulled out
a three ring binder, opened up to a section in there. Looked down the
list and said, "Yup, Digital is here. Can you provide me with a
company badge?" I gave him the badge, he made a photocopy and faxed
that along with the application. By the time I got home the phone was
working and the first bill was being charged at the discounted rate.

Try 617-462-4000 and ask to speak to the Digital rep.
If you're not in MA, I'm sure they can provide you with a
local [to you] rep.
