I belong to IS (Information Services, formerly IM&T). Why should IS not be a business unit with its own Revenue, Profit & Loss instead of being a 'charitable organisation' within digital ? I feel, being a business unit gives more drive & visibility to our work. What are your feelings ? Sunder

no can do, unless you develop an external focus. In my opinion, a business unit cannot be run on internal "revenue". Mark | |||||

We tried that two years ago - and folded the operation (the Bob McNulty era) - see the previous note on has the infrastructure collapsed. People, particularly in desk top support, seem to learn as they do and the training programs don't seem sufficient. However, closer 'contracts' between the groups that IT suppports and IT might make sense. |
