4257.0. "40 Alpha workstations for BU, who to contact?" by TALLIS::NELSON (It's not the years it's the mileage!) Wed Nov 08 1995 13:13

I have a friend of a friend who's attending BU and they want to buy
40 Alpha workstations. Obviously, they want the best possible price so
I was asked who would they contact. I thought we gave special pricing
for educational places like universities, don't we? If so who would I
point this person to to buy these workstations (I think it's great that
universities want our stuff, let's get the next generation familiar and
in love with our machines before they enter the industry -- like it
    used to be!)?

I did a title search on "education" with no luck.

    	Thanks for any info,

    Brian

Thanks! Someone here knew her name when she was Betsy Bacon but couldn't
remember her new name. I tried ELF but apparenty she didn't list her old
name as another option.

Thanks again,

Brian

I would have submitted a SALES LEAD via the DETECTIVES program, and try to get
some money out of it at least. 1% of a large sale is quite significant on a
paycheck.

    What's the detectives program?

In Canada most non-sales employees can submit sales leads to Detectives when
they hear/see an opportunity for a sale.

All we have to do is fill out a simple template form with the lead details and
send it ALL-IN-1 to DETECTIVES @KAO.

As far as I know there's an equivalent world-wide since I was a corporate
video on the program just last month.

Sorry, I don't know who to contact in the U.S. Try typing the word DETECTIVES
from ALL-IN-1 and the <find> key, maybe you'll get the mail address.
