Quote of the Day -- October 11, 1995
Here's the text from the "Quote of the day":
Alpha continues to lead the pack
PC Magazine: What is the current position of Alpha among the industry's
microprocessor architectures and where do you see it in the future?
Tim Miller: "Digital's Alpha microprocessors lead the industry in
performance, as they have done since the introduction of the Alpha
64-bit RISC architecture in February 1992. The Alpha 21164 delivers
more than twice the performance of the latest PowerPC 604 processor and
three times that of Intel's Pentium 133mhz CISC processor. With a clear
performance advantage and a rapidly growing portfolio of Windows NT
applications (now more than 1,100), we look for Alpha to grow
significantly in market share in coming years and to be the leading
RISC architecture for Windows NT."
Timothy R. Miller is the Strategic Marketing Manager for Alpha
Microprocessors at Digital Semiconductor, a Digital Equipment
Corporation business.

Of course, that doesn't mean we should *stop* say them...
PC Magazine apparently runs a series of such quotes on its Web page.
Digital Semiconductor was invited to participate, which they did by
supplying the answer to PC Mag's question with a photo of Tim.
