I work at DECsale and take, personally, two to three calls per week from reps
whose customers want to order Alpha system with a modem.

The only modem I can find that we sell is the PBXDF-AA, which is 14.4 and 
Windows NT only.

I'm embarrassed to tell people "we don't have any." And when they say "What do 
you recommend?" I reply "look in the Black Box catalog."

Why don't we sell (more models of) modems?

  Probably becuase modems are not a core competency?

    We sell Cleo Communications 2780/3780 bisynch emulation package
    (Digital acts as a partner for them) along with a Racal modem.
