4129.0. "Reliable Flow Manager (RFM)" by RDVAX::REDNER () Tue Sep 19 1995 17:50

Does anybody know what happened to the product or the people that were involved with the RFM
product? Dieter Gawlick and/or Mei-Chun Hsu?

There are fans of this product in the healthcare market that would like to continue to work
with it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

4129.1Some Info...HLDE01::VUURBOOM_Rset prof/personWed Sep 20 1995 02:5310
    RFM, officially redubbed ObjectFlow, has apparently been sold to Forte
    although no official announcement has been made. You can read about
    ObjectFlow's fate in note 89 of MTVIEW::OBJECTFLOW. The note has
    the somewhat apt title "Is ObjectFlow Dead?". Engineering activities
    were stopped (within Digital) in January.

    Mei-Chun moved on to EDS about a year ago. Don't know what happened
    to Dieter.

    Dieter Gawlick is now at Oracle.

    Contact Barry Rubinson (marin::rubinson) for ObjectFlow information.

    Of course, I should have mentioned that the former RFM product
    manager, Mike Guerette, is still around and posting in various
    conferences :-)

    A note from one of the long time RFM engineers:

    Most of the engineers who remained were trasnferred to the Palo Alto
    Database Technology Center in March when the project got defunded
    finally and many people left the company since then one by one.

    I myself was transferred to the Database Market Development
    Group, doing technical consulting for database market. I see now only
    a few people here who had ties with RFM/ObjectFlow.

You folks are a wealth of information. I had no idea how to track this one down.
Now it's done in a matter of a day or 2.

Thanks again,
