I work for USSM Training at HLO, in Hudson Ma. We are a manufacturing training and development group that is part of United States Semiconductor Manufacturing. We are about to undertake an effort to get into the world of Computer Based Training (CBT) and are looking at "Icon Author" as the multimedia authoring tool we will use to pull this training together. I am seeking some information about this multimedia tool so hence this note. I would appreciate any help on any of the following questions. - Who is the Digital representative assigned to Aimtech? This is the company that makes Icon Author. - Do you know of any person or group that has a license / copy of "Icon Author" or "CBT Express" that they no longer use? CBT Express is a newer, more user friendly version of Icon Author. If you can answer any of these queries or can point me to someone that might be able to, I would appreciate it. Also, If you have a better idea of where (another note) to post this message I would be grateful. Have a fine day Rgds. Bob LaForest

Hi Bob, As I've mentioned to you, I myself have a long history with AimTech. Many of us developing multimedia computer-based training have as well. For more information about IconAuthor and other authoring tools in general, you might see this notes file: SPRITE::AUTHORING (press KP7 to add it to your notebook now!) FYI, IBM and AimTech recently announced an agreement to jointly develop and market IconAuthor. Tara Shared Engineering Services Multimedia CBT Developer |
