for MCS Sales?

groups got any bucks. We felt quite left out last time. liesl

Don't feel left out.
Just want to share some info re the Canadian MCS Sucess Sharing. To my
recollection the formula is like this:
If you make 80% of the budget you'll get .49% of you salary
If you make 100%, then .50%
If you make 120%, then .51%
This is on a per quarter basis. Obviously there is very little
incentive there. However this is one of the reasons to why those low
perfomers would not get a raise in their job review, cause they are
compensated thro the Sucess Sharing Program (plus other things like
quarterly and annual award etc).
I personally would like to see this program be more aggressive so that
unit managers can award more to good performers on a quaterly basis.
Right now they can only do that annually (in their Job Review).

4025.4 | SuccesSharing Program Manager | SHRCTR::RHORRIGAN | | Thu Aug 03 1995 10:26 | 44 |
| Hello, I am the Program Manager for the SuccesSharing
Incentive Program for U.S.MCS. Someone brought to my attention
this Notes file. I hope I can respond to the current questions
I see listed and provide a brief overview of the program.
Please see your local U.S.MCS Managers for more details.
Each of the AMCS Territories(U.S.,LAC,Mexico,Canada, etc) have
there own version of the program tailored to meet their
business needs and provide group incentives.
The U.S.MCS SuccesSharing Program was designed to provide incentive
payouts for achieving specific business performance targets in
Customer Satisfaction and Contribution Margin. These two
categories have eligibility gates for FY95 set at 85% and 95%
respectively. It was also expected that the program would
foster the following behaviors.
o Encourage ideas and actions that better service customers,
reduce expenses, and generate revenue.
o Promote TEAMWORK within and among all members of the MCS
Family.
o Encourage us to question inefficiencies in customers service
or work processes that lead to unhappy customers or
unnecessary expenses.
o Encourage Continuous Improvement and innovations to meet
or exceed MCS objectives.
==========================================================
FY95 Year End payout:
Eligible/qualified Regions, Districts and Territory for the
year end payout, will receive the incentive payout in their
August 17th pay statements. For example: $30,000.00 X .01
= $300.00, this is 1 percent of the base pay (less any normal
deductions). This is only an example. Some Regions
/Districts will receive either more or less based on their
unique performance. It is based on their groups performance
to the Customer Satisfaction and Contribution Margin performance.
Please call me or write me directly, I will not be
able to stay up with Chairing a Notes Conference.
Thanks Rick Horrigan 237-3711 @SHR, SHRCTR::RHORRIGAN

| RE: .6
What kind of official word would you like? US MCS employees received
brochures early in Q3 describing this program, and also saw a video
which described the program.
Here in the South Central Territory we've also had regular
communications with our District management teams to tell them what was
going on with SuccesShare and what their potential payouts looked like
as they submitted new financial forecasts and we received updates on
their Survey scores.
I know this information has been given to our Districts (since I'm the
one who provided it to them), and I know it has been shared in at least
3 of those Districts. I'm confident the other District Managers also
shared the informations, I just haven't heard for a fact that they did.

4025.8 | THE official $$$ word | CSC32::PITT | | Fri Aug 04 1995 20:30 | 18 |
|
I assume .6 was asking what percentage of $$$$$ can we expect to get
THIS time since we apparently did SOOOO well this fiscal year?
There's a BIG difference between a 1% bonus and a 9.5% bonus.
That news hasn't been made public (as far as I know).
Are we suppose to wait until
August 17th to see how much money has been deposited into the bank or
should we be getting an official message stating that we will be seeing
n% because of these blahblah numbers?
I also get the feeling that since the financial report looked so good
that folks are anticipating a BIG percentage...
it's like "the check is in the mail but we're not telling you for how
much"......
THAT is the official word that seems to me missing....

does anyone have any word on where that 1% came from?
The numbers I saw implied that we made 100+% of our goals.
Still waiting to get the "official word" in mail. Nothing so far.
1%? geesh.... what does a person have to do around here.......

| Please don't complain that your bonus is too small.
Please be happy that your management decided to set up an
incentive program to help you achieve your goals
so that you get a bonus.
Those of us not in MCS don't get any bonuses at all.

| From what I remember (deleted the mail) we made 100.1% of our $$$ goal
(revenue or margin I'm not sure but I believe margin) and we just barely
made the board with our customer satisfaction numbers, ~94% of the goal.
There are many that would say we don't deserve anything since we didn't
make 100% or more in both so IMHO I'm satisfied.

| re .11
that wasnt't a complaint about getting a bonus.
It as a statement of disbelief. Looking at the year end results, it
looked to me (too) like we had a great year, especially considering
what we had to work with.

| re : official word yesterday.....
I too got my letter yesterday saying that we would be participating
in SuccessShare - however, the letter did *not* state what our group
or I would be getting - it was more generic with examples of "if you're
percentage is X then based on Y salary, you'd get Z"...
the way I look at it : *ANYTHING* is more than NOTHING !!!!!!!!
thanks, MCS !

4025.19 | Its not a bonus | MSDOA::MCCLOUD | plug & pray | Tue Aug 08 1995 18:58 | 7 |
| This is not a bonus a bonus is something extra. Success sharing works
with money funded from salary plans but distributed to groups with high
customer satisfaction. Do not try to read between the lines I am not
complaining just informing.
Bonus something given or paid over and above what is due.
