I though that the advantage of UNIX/****X was that their was
no PORTING required just load it up and run your application.

| QNX is not UNIX; it's a microkernel O/S. It does have a POSIX subsystem but
the application is not required to use it.

| Hello,
I am G Sridhar heading the voice group that provides voice
solutions for customers in the Asia Pacific. We are a group based in
India at Bangalore and we have performed jobs on VMS with DECvoice for
customers in China and Hong Kong.
DEC has recently establised a Unix Centre here at this site, and we
will be in a position to take up the job in .0.
Please send me a mail at ADCA01::GSRIDHAR for further details.
Regards
G Sridhar

The reference to a Porting Centre Manager saying that he's
looking for someone with the 'same skillset' implies that
the required skills were better defined than in the base note.
As .2 implies the applications may have used APIs that are not
easily replicated in Digital UNIX, however the Porting Centres
that I know of ( part of the Software Partner Engineering organisation)
in Marlboro, Palo Alto and here in Europe - UK and Munich - certainly
have skills to deal with UNIX porting so unless the skills are
particular to QNX or Voice Apps in general...... I'm surprised at
the apparent skill shortfall.....
