                              JOHN HAWKES

   For those that may have known John from his long time previous
   employment with Digital. John passed away Thursday, July 6, 1995
   at his home in Acton, MA after a brief illness.

   John worked at various Digital sites in Massachusetts and New Hampshire
   and also travelled extensively during his time here. He worked for
   Engineering and Customer Services organizations. He also did
   a brief stint at the PKO3 Employee Store. He left Digital in 1993.

   He was very active in Acton's Theatre III for many years. He was the
   Deputy Director of the Acton Emergency Management Agency (Civil Defense),
   worked with Acton Explorer Post #7, and was actively involved with
   fire musters in the New England area.

   Calling Hours at the Acton Funeral Home (Rt.111/Mass.Ave.) are on
   Sunday, July 9th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm.  Funeral will be Monday,
   July 10th at 11:30am at the same location.

   Other arrangements are not known at this time, but will probably
   be published in the Boston Globe.

   He will be missed by his friends and his community. This communication
   was the least that I could do.
