| There is nothing wrong with asking why our stock is taking a plunge,
certainly such a question does not merit being told to go to
Digital_Investing.
Digital_Investing is about Investing i.e. the buying and selling of
shares etc. It is perfectly possible that someone just wants to find
out why it is DEC's stock is going down .... is it the end of
quarter/before results slide ? Has Alpha developed a flaw ? Did Bob
Palmer announce he is going to General Foods ? Such info does not
necessarily have to do with buying and selling but may just have to do
with common interest in the company.
Maybe its the summer heat, or maybe something else but it seems that
our Moderators have started to interpret their mandate a little too
tightly for my liking.
As moderators, you have taken on a volunteer task that deserves credit,
however you have not become a censor. As moderators, you need to be
cognizant of the fact that your job is to facilitate a round-the-world
conversation between many many people, but you are not "in control".
If you believe that for Digital to get the best value out of this forum
you need to control with an iron fist, make unilateral decisions and
not inform people, then you have missed the real value of this forum.
Think of this as being in a meeting with a chairperson banging the
gavel all the time and forcing people to follow a strict set of rules
and agenda. THe theory says that no timewasting and straight focus
would make for a productive meeting, however reality is that with
people involved it don't work.
So, given that we seem to have just finished a good quarter and that
the plan for profitability is still on track, have we found a floating
point divide error in Alpha or does General Foods have a new boss ?
