3892.0. "In memory of Gary Gaudet" by COMPAC::DEB () Mon May 22 1995 10:41

It saddens me greatly to post this information here. Many, many people
knew Gary Gaudet and we all felt that this would be the best forum
other than mail messages to the Unix Business Segment to get the word
out to those that have worked with and knew Gary in the past.

    				Thank you,
    			       Deb Robison

    To all USG members,

it is with great sadness that I have to tell you that
Gary Gaudet from our system admin group died yesterday.

Gary requested that instead of a wake or formal funeral
there should be a "Celebration of Life". This will be
held May 27th, at St. Mike's on Front Street in Exeter. Time
is not known yet but I will pass it along when we have
it. If you don't know what a "Celebration of Life" is,
it's a chance to stand up and talk about Gary or just
say a few words. Everyone who knew Gary is welcome to attend.

Gary also requested that, in lieu of flowers, please send
    donations to:

    Norris Cotton Cancer Center
    at Dartmouth-Hitchcock
    1 Medical Center Drive
    Lebanon, N.H. 03756

The Celebration of Life for Gary will start at 10:00 A.M. on
May 27th at St. Mike's on Front St. in Exeter. Due to the
short amount of time only designated people will be doing
readings during the service. After the service, everyone
will be going down stairs where Betty will have some
munchies and pictures of Gary. This is when people will be
able to speak. She has requested that people who want to
speak about Gary, write down what they want to say so that
she and Tess can save the writings. A paragraph or so would
be wonderful, more, of course, would be better. If the people
wish to speak, they may do so down stairs. If people would
like to bring some of their pictures of Gary to share, that
would be nice. Everyone will have to leave by 12:30 due to
    a wedding at 1:00 P.M..

I used to square dance with Gary and Betty back when I lived in the Exeter
area. I would often run into Gary here at ZKO and we'd chat briefly. I can't
say I knew him well, but I always thought of him as a gentle, good-hearted man.
It was only a couple of weeks ago we exchanged greetings in the cafeteria -
and now he's gone. I can't be at Gary's "Celebration of Life", but I did
want to offer my sympathies to Betty and Tess (I remember when Tess was
born...)
