someone in Burlington/Wilminton MA area needs help with using HP printers with Alpha running OpenVMS. sketchy details are: Alpha Servers running OpenVMS and they want to use J2555A Jet Direct card for HP 4+ for ethernet, server running Novell. they are willing to pay for MCS support or engage any Decee and pay consulting/work charges to get them going. I have the contact name and the telephone. Any takers or pointer to who should I direct this inquiry to. for info call dtn 223-9493/Romesh Verma or send Email ics::verma. person who called me offered to pay to fly the right person into MA to help them get going.

The Jet Direct card doesn't have a clue what DECnet or VMS queues are. There is however, a vendor that sells a similar card that can be set up as a queue on a VMS system. NetQue is the name that comes to mind... Harry | |||||

>If the server has UCX u can set up LPD que ...or a TELNET queue...if the card supports TCP/IP in addition to Novell (IPX). Just about all Alpha's come with a NAS license, which means they can run UCX... tim |
