The sea-change is South Africa over the last few years has been
remarkable and wonderful to watch, and it was good to know that Digital
was (I think) doing the right things, insofar as possible for a single
Corporation, to help. Though we know that there is still a long way to
go for the full benefits of democracy to reach people everywhere in
South Africa, the beginnings are auspicious, the directions are the
right ones, and I, as one Digital employee and "citizen of the world"
rejoice with you.

I read in yesterday's paper that Digital received the Bishop Desmond
Tutu Humanitarian Award and was chosen over many other US companies. I
believe they gave five individual and five corporate (this is from
memory) awards to those who are helping build a new South Africa.
First time in a long time I felt very proud of this company after
reading a newspaper article.
Happy birthday South Africa....
