3731.0. "Pension Statement Mistakes??" by POBOX::BATTIS (Contract Studmuffin) Tue Mar 07 1995 14:39

I was just recently informed by a co-worker that her pension statement
that she received was totally wrong. Anyone else notice this on
theirs?? Mine certainely was alot lower versus last years statement.

She said new statements would be mailed out soon.

They are *all* screwed up. A processing error occured during the
batch run that had badge numbers and actual pension accrual numbers
for that particular badge number out of sequence.

New statements will be mailed by the end of the month. The PSN has
gotten a bizillion calls on this issue, so give 'em a break. It is
    being fixed.

Its these new fangled things called computers; in the old days we
just did it by hand and never made a mistake, now people just want
to push a button, and a machine does it... What is this world coming
to...Next thing you know, we'll want to walk on the moon, and stuff...

Last week, 1995 pension statements were mailed along with
       Future$aver, a retirement planning diskette. We've received a
number of phone calls from employees indicating that their
statements are incorrect. We have verified that, due to a
production problem, many of the pension statements do contain
       incorrect data.

We are working with the external vendor that produced the
statements to identify the nature and extent of the problem.

The vendor will reissue new statements marked "Corrected Version"
next week to ensure that each employee receives accurate
information. The Future$aver diskette you received with your
original statement is not affected by this problem. We apologize
for any confusion this may cause.

3731.6Benefits_Express PIN!!Where do you find It?MSDOA::PERKINSTWed Mar 08 1995 22:5613
I am a long time member of the SAVE plan. Where do one find my <<< New >>>
Personal Identification Number? The one that enables me to reallocate
my investments. I thought our new PIN's were to be communicated as
part of the 1995 Pension Statement.

Is this another error in the 1995 Pension Statement or was the PIN
provided in one of the earlier communication?

    regards,

RE: .6 The PIN Number was in a letter that was part of the most
recent "care" package sent to your home. The date on the
        letter is 2-28-95.

If you can't find it, then call Benefits Express at
1-800-890-3100 and when you get a "real" person on the
line ask them to send you a new PIN.

    Re: .7. .6

If you re-check I think you'll find that the PIN was not part of the
Future$aver package. It was in a letter sent earlier that included a
little folding card with menu's for enrollment. The letter head read
"PIN Notice". The postmark on mine was 2/24.

I called yesterday about not getting my PIN. I was told that the
mailing had been delayed and to wait until Saturday to see if we would
arrive. If not, I was to call back Monday and they would give me a new
    PIN.

So count your blessings. My first statement was so far off it told me
it couldn't effectively estimate some of my potential retirement pay
    "because you are disabled". Huh?

It was nice to see in here that they screwed 'em all up and would be
correcting things without my having to rattle the cages to get answers
on why some computer somewhere thought I was disabled.

You're lucky they decided to correct the statement rather than correct the
facts.

Did anyone else receive a "corrected" benefits statement that listed
*no* benefits? I was hoping to avoid calling for clarification but I
haven't seen anything stating we would be receiving a "correction to
the corrected" statement. Or ... maybe it's not a mistake.
