3677.0. "See the New HiNote Ultra Notebook PC!" by PCBUOA::PBASMAJIAN () Mon Feb 06 1995 16:23
Call for Participants: Mobile Computing Focus Group!
The PC Business Unit is conducting an informal focus group consisting of
BOTH new and experienced mobile computing users, and would like to invite
interested parties from within Digital to participate.
Requirements: New or Experienced Users: No Skill Level
Required. We are looking for a mix of both
sophisticated users, as well as those who know
little or nothing about PCs or mobile computers.
Specifically, we are looking for sales or sales
support people, accounting/finance, marketing
professionals or others who travel significantly.
No past or present technical writers or
instructional designers
Benefit to You: You will have an opportunity to see, touch (and
hear!) Digital's latest and most advanced notebook
computer, the HiNote Ultra, lauded by industry
analysts and trade publications. This unit is
currently not yet available through other channels
other than Digital directly (i.e. you cannot see it
in retail stores, etc.)
The HiNote Ultra is one of the lightest and
slimmest notebooks in its class, contains a full-size
notebook keyboard, includes multimedia features
such as built-in business audio, and uses infrared
technology.
Participation: 1 Hour during week of Mon 2/13-Fri 2/17 at AKO1, PC
Business Unit
Project
Description: It is a documentation study. You will be
asked to open a HiNote Ultra shipping carton and
setup the unit using the existing "quick start"
documentation.
If you are interested, please send mail by 2/10 to PCBUOA::PBASMAJIAN,
or Peter Basmajian @AKO.
Thank you.

| This week's PC WEEK has a column by Jim Louderback which rips the
HiNote Ultra and Field Service. He recounted numerous hardware
problems and system limitations. He even regretted the fact that he
told his father to buy one.
He ends the column saying he is to become Editor-in-Chief of Windows
Sources.
It's so good having friends in high places... :^(
