| Does anyone know when Digital gets Patriot's day 1996 off? It is not in
VTX as the previous note shows.
Thanks,
David

| Patriots Day, if observed at all, is a "location choice" holiday. It is
designated as such by many (but not all) Massachusetts (and a couple of NH)
sites - I don't know if any other sites honor it. That's why it's not listed
in the VTX calendar.
I think it's next Monday (the 25th).

| I believe that Patriot's Day is April 15 this year. It is the
same day as the 100th running of the Boston Marathon. I live in
Hopkinton (where they start the race) and there is much hype aroung
that day.

| It is April 15. (For those of us who live in MA, we get an extra day
to file our taxes, too.)

| RE: -.1
I suppose I should have been more specific, but I thought my request
was sort of obvious; I was looking for a date, not an explanation of
how the "Location Choice Holiday system" works. Nevertheless I will
rephrase:
Does anyone know the exact date the Massachusetts Digital sites are
observing Patriot's Day?
Most people I talk to seem to think it's April 15, but I have heard one
or two mentions of April 22. It should be the closest Monday to April
19, which would imply the 22nd. I wish this were published somewhere.
I guess another way to ask this (for you runners out there) what is the
date of the Boston Marathon.
Thanks,
David

.6 was in reference to .3.
Thank you to .4 and .5.

3654.8 | 3rd Monday in April - Observed | BABAGI::YOUNG | | Mon Mar 18 1996 14:54 | 5 |
| Believe the Patriot's Day holiday is "officially" 4/19 ... The
day the Massachusetts Digital Sites usually select is the 3rd
Monday in April ... hence the 15th this year.

| The Patriots Day holiday is officially Monday the 15th. I don't
remember whether the rule is "third Monday" or "Monday on or before
the 19th" or something else.
This year, Patriots Day is officially on the 15th, and not just for
DEC but for the whole state.
Not only Massachusetts residents get until the 16th to file their
Federal taxes, but also all those whose filing center is Andover.
See the instructions for the 1040 form.

| I believe the 3rd Monday in April is the formula
used by Massachusetts to determine Patriots Day.
Pats day USED to be the 19th, but no longer.
