I just heard that ENCORE is building a Massively Parallel Processing
(MPP) systems using Alpha chips.
Does anyone know anything about this or about ENCORE's relationship
with Digital?

Encore are using their Reflective Memory technology to build 'clusters'
glued together with their 'Infinity File System' (which they developed
for the 88k). They have won a 9 node system in China using this
technology. Their Alpha systems are being focussed on Real Time and
Scientific/technical systems, using our OSF/1 and layered products.
Hardware wise, one of their systems uses a VME board made by a company
called Aeon - others in their range will be derivatives of Digital
product, I guess.
They are officially a Technical OEM Business Partner.
