I think the proper place to check on this is in
TURRIS::EASYNET_CONFERENCES, but I'll put my 2 in before Steve blasts
    this.

    WAS THERE? Yeah, there was.

    IS THERE? Check EASYNET_CONFERENCES.

There's a VTX system (RIDE?) that lets you enter info about yourself
and find matches with other employees (kinda like an open-road dating
service :^]). I used it and found that:

    a) me and about five other people were it

    b) the software program had never driven around Dallas or looked too
close at a Texas map, so it was unaware that Grapevine, Lewisville, and
DeSoto form an area the size of Massachoo-sets.

Hi, Karen...

There still is - EASYNET_CONFERENCES lists POWDML::COMMUTING. Please look
in TURRIS::EASYNET_CONFERENCES (index in note 2.*) for locating conferences.

Re -.1: I agree that you should look in TURRIS::EASYNET_CONFERENCES when
looking for a notesfile and, if you don't find it, post an inquiry there.
However, I'm glad that .0 wrote this note because few people know about the
existence of the ride matching program on VTX. There are two options (or where
the last time I checked), one for matching within Digital and one for matching
with the public (including Digital).
Has anyone actually joined a carpool as a result of this service?

The Commuter Transportation Department, which sponsored Ridematch, no longer
exists. You can still try to find matches through the COMMUTING notesfile
or through CARAVAN (in the MA/NH/RI area, phone (617) 227-POOL).
