| I suggest that instead of some cute funny ad, that we use our ad
dollars more wisely. Specifically for retail sales combine our
ad dollars with the retail chains to let a possible customer know that
they can find the Digital line of computers at store x...

ARGH!!!! Don't take this wrong BUT!
It's "ad" not "add"!!! "Ad" is short for advertisement or advert.
"Add" is short for addition, like in math.
I think I'm gonna loose my marbles over this...

| RE .4 - Mike, as long as we are being precise, I should point out that the term
is "lose" one's marbles, not "loose" them. As in, "If your pants are loose, you
are liable to lose them."

Steve,
I knew someone would fall for that. I did that intentionally.
It's another of the common misspellings that gets frustrating
over time.

"misspelling" is not a misspelling, at least
not according to my dictionary (Concise OED).

Whoops! You're quite right. I stand corrected (actually, I'm sitting).

How about an ad campaign with Clousseau wrecking a competitor's machine.
The owner exclaims "that was a very costly computer!"
"Not anymore."

Interesting twist- Sam's club acquired Pace Membership Warehouse
locations in this area and announced that effective Nov. 1 they would
no longer honor Pace memberships and require re-applying for a Sam's
card.
Well, I obtained my Pace membership through Digital years ago. I
sent mail to personnel and facilities asking that they qualify Digital
as a "qualified organization". Their response thusfar has been a basic
"yawn, tell us what you find out, how did you get a membership through
Digital in the first place, etc."
I responded that:
1) We are conspicuously absent in their in-store posting of
participating local businesses i.e. Westinghouse, Black Box, IBM, USX,
etc.
2) Digital is marketing our PCs through SAM's clubs. Get the hint?
I don't think a little effort to patronize/promote our presence in
SAM's locations would hurt. Other comments?

I also saw an article on the "Intel inside" ad campaign - the
information they gathered via survey was that *EVERYONE* who recognized
"Star Trek" also recognized the "Intel inside" logo and vice-versa.
