who's not without the entire roster in front of you ;-)
Just take the old org charts and rotate them 90 degrees-- not much has changed
(yet...:-;)

If Tech Writers could do org charts, we wouldn't need managers.

You folks are all real lucky, you aren't in sales. Our org charts
were eaten by a dog at MLO who then proceeded to create three new
regions when he passed the paper. This is called downsizing?
I'm not even confused anymore. Disgusted is a much better word.

A friend of mine recently submitted the following for my reading
entertainment.
I guess the only thing I can add is that this box (and others) provide
a useful corporate purpose by allowing folk to "harmlessly" vent. Beats
doing it in from of a customer.
So, see attached and enjoy. Also, if you have your own "features", then
by all means, add them in. Perhaps we can compile enough for a new
product announcement from the SBU.

Announcing the new DEC 154VP Processor!!
-----------------
The newest member of the Digital family will complement your existing
Alpha, VAX and PDP systems by providing this outstanding functionality:
* High cost of ownership
* Least performance
* Best Networking Options
* Automatic Rhetoric Generator Facility
* Automatic Downsizing Generator Utility
* Consumes Large Quantities of Power
* Best-in-Class Distribution Channels
High Cost of Ownership
----------------------
Each DEC 154VP processor costs over $250,000 per unit and can be configured
to receive substantial and ranging options (see: Consumes Large Quantities of
Power).
Let us not mislead you: your DEC 154VP processor will never pay for itself, but
it will not embarass you by getting in front of your customers!
Least Performance
-----------------
The DEC 154VP has THE LEAST performance of any member of Digital's family.
The DEC 154VP enjoys being networked into meetings, conferences (especially
in the boardroom) and other events that allow them to tell the rest of the
Digital family just how poorly they perform. But, don't expect the DEC 154VP
to provide any functional, renevue-generating output!
Best Networking Options
-----------------------
The DEC 154VP has some of the best networking options in the industry today!
It can connect to ANYTHING, but perfers only to connect to other DEC 154VP
units.
Automatic Rhetoric Generator Facility
-------------------------------------
Upon loss of power, position or revenue, the DEC 154VP can generate substantial
(and endless) amounts of rhetoric (via the new Rhetoric Generator Facility, or
RGF) to explain the reasons for losses. Remember that RGF, which comes bundled
with the host software, requires a separately quoted license.
Automatic Downsizing Generator Utility
--------------------------------------
After using the RGF utility, the DEC 154VP automatically invokes the power of
the new Downsizing Generator Utility (DGU). With the DGU, the DEC 154VP can
effectively downsize the operation by severing other members of the Digital
family without rhyme or reason based on perceived value or productive output.
Consumes Large Quantities of Power
----------------------------------
The DEC 154VP processor is a power-hungry little bugger. Each of these babies
will consume large quantities of electricity, money, other DEC 154VP, and
especially, other members of the Digital family. Each DEC 154VP has an internal
register to detect when it has aquired another member of the Digital family to
call their own.
Best-In-Class Distribution Channels
-----------------------------------
The DEC 154VP will be the first of its kind to be made available in retail
outlets let Lechmere, Sears, ComputerCity and CircuitCity. Digital is also
considering selling the DEC 154VP to other vendors for resale (IBM, HP, Sun,
even Digital!) and will even buy them back, but only if it can pay more!
Ordering Information
--------------------
Be the first on your block to own a DEC 154VP processor today!
Order by calling 1-800-4REDINK today.

Have your VISA, MasterCard or Discover card handy.

GREAT!!!!!
One more addition -
The DEC 154VP comes with a choice of warranty items secreted in a
small 3.5" floppy disk. The disk requires a DEC PC with antiquated
Operating System, less memory than required to boot the software, and
archaic instructions guaranteed to confuse the user.
As a default additional warranty can be purchased at time of sale
for 15 ICs and a budget increase of 50% annually. Twenty percent salary
deductions are automatically generated by the DEC 154VP at initial
boot.

Perfectly correct (as opposed to politically). After the DEC 154VP
reaches critical mass in the marketplace - estimated at 200 units. It
will come with its own SOC. Who needs org charts, let's get more VPs
than Chase Manhattan.

I didn't think Manhattan was going anywhere, so why would you want to chase it?
Come to think of it, it is an appropriate metaphor for this conversation.
