    The DC DVN has been postponed.

    According to the memo from Gresh, it was postponed because he can't
    talk about the plans for DC because they haven't been announced by
    Palmer and the SLT yet. So he didn't think it was appropriate to have
    an "Electronic Meeting".

    ************ URGENT - DIGITAL CONSULTING DVN CANCELLATION **********
    
    I regret to announce that the Digital Consulting DVN which had been 
    scheduled for June 22nd from 11:00-12:30 EDT has been postponed.  A 
    new date for the broadcast will be set within a week.  
    
    My intent was to spend a few minutes updating you on our financial 
    and operational performance, and the progress Digital Consulting has 
    made against the goals stated in the "Looking Forward" document.  We 
    were also going to cover the operational programs that are on track 
    for July 1st implementation.  The remainder of the broadcast was 
    designed as an "Electronic Meeting" where you all could have a voice 
    and ask questions.
    
    You may have seen the message from Bob Palmer that was sent out last 
    week [June 16th].  It stated that specific steps to return Digital to 
    profitability have been approved by the Board of Directors, but since 
    work remains to be done, it would be inappropriate to discuss 
    detailed plans and subsequent actions at this time.  In supporting 
    the direction set by Bob and the Board, it would, therefore, be 
    premature for Digital Consulting to hold an "Electronic Meeting" at 
    this time because we could not specifically discuss our future plans 
    and direction in any detail.   
    
    I apologize for this delay in the meeting, and for whatever 
    discomfort it may cause you in your desire to know the future 
    direction of Digital and Digital Consulting.  I know there are a 
    great many rumors circulating throughout the corporation about 
    Digital Consulting--and some of them have even appeared in the press.  
    As Bob pointed out in his message, do not be distracted by 
    speculation which circulates for each real and imagined move we make.  
    Be assured that as soon as it is possible to share the details with 
    you, I will.
    
    In the meantime, to keep you abreast of ongoing programs within 
    Digital Consulting, we will soon be issuing a special edition of the 
    Digital Consulting newsletter which will detail our plans for effort 
    reporting, revenue sharing, revising metrics and opportunity 
    tracking.
    
    We set a course for ourselves with the "Looking Forward" document and 
    we have not wavered from that.  We continue to focus our efforts on 
    building a strong and credible consulting organization and we have 
    every confidence that we will be successful.  We must keep ourselves 
    focused and upbeat.  I urge you to move ahead and to continue to sell 
    consulting engagements for the remainder of FY94 and on into FY95.
    
    Your efforts in these confusing times are all the more appreciated 
    and I want to thank you all.

    I've just received an Email, that the scheduled DC DVN for tomorrow
    has been cancelled!

       Does somebody have a count of cancellations?

       As someone said this morning:

        "There a slight credibility problem. Isn't it?" 

FWIW, Enrico has scheduled a series of "town meetings" in the field throughout
August.  The NYC event (8/1) had been scheduled for quite awhile.  Yesterday
we were told it's been postponed due to scheduling conflicts.  Hmmmmm, can it
be that Enrico doesn't want to be in town the very day more layoffs are due to
hit?  Also, the last "town meeting" scheduled in NY (Lucente was the featured
guest) was also cancelled due to scheduling conflicts.  Lucente resigned a 
few days later.

Nah, it's just a coincidence.

    so far as I know, Brebach's DVN for tomorrow (Thursday, 28 July) is
    still on.  Got mail just this AM.

    I got a similar mail as the other in the previous replies.

    Of course it's off. Now that the CSC talks have fallen through (local
    rumor), the SLT has now determined that DC is a key component that we
    won't sell. I'm just curious what our new "compensation" plan is going
    be.
