There have been several discussions in this file recently focusing on the notion that our Alpha technology is not being pushed enough and/or noticed by the press as much as maybe we would like it to be. I would like to propose a suggestion that would literally put this technology in front of thousands of our customers everyday exposing them and hopefully many more to its benefits. The suggestion is to put our direct ordering channel the Electronic Connection on an Alpha machine in order to showcase this technology while increasing the ease of use for our Electronic Connection customers. Imagine the possibilities of what could be done with this. If we actually did do it we could start by not even announcing it until after the fact letting the customers ask us if something is different THEN announce it. Permission is granted to forward this as far and wide as possible to as many people as it takes to hopefully have this seriously considered. Barry

Say what??? The E-Connection is one of the most difficult menu-driven systems to work with anyone ever experienced. (My VARs hate it) And it only runs at 9600 baud. Alpha hell, put it on a PC. the Greyhawk

It isn't CPU power that is needed. It's a 70's solution in the 90's. It's also bound by the same horrible legacy systems as DECgenisys and other state of the art solutions. Bob
