| In question #3 I think the customer would pay in the n/30 if the
equipment was delivered as promised and up and running in a short time.
I have heard of customers having the equip on site but no one to set it
up and when it is set up it doesn`t work. It might take another week to
get it running. If I were the customer I wouldn`t pay until it was up
and running to what expections. We invoice and the clock starts ticking
on the 30 days (I think) when it leaves the dock....not when the
customer gets running.

| I believe -1 is correct. There are also a few more reasons why the
customers aren't paying in net 30. From what I understand, our
contract invoices are very confusing. I am being to do more with SMART
in my current job and I've heard from several people here that the
customers are always calling because they don't understand how to read
the invoices. Also, as far as product orders, some customers need us
to mirror their PO exactly and with the way we have to order (ex:
putting systems as the first line item so it feeds to manufacturing
properly while it may be the second or third on the PO). This causes
us to speical pull and invoice and have the CSC's do a cosmetic. All
this time its on the books aging. Palmer did address these issues in
one of the DvN's I've seen and we are told that there is visability to
the invoice problems.

Okay I had spelling mistakes, my fingers don't move in the direction I
want them to !!!! Fancy asking me about my Grandma :-).
Let's get back to the subject of the why questions that the customer
had asked me. I couldn't answer them honestly so I just asked the
customer to get in touch with the AC manager, I also sent an EM to the
ACM. The customer do notice all of these odd ways that we do business
with them and they don't like it.

So these two things are separate? Hmmm... I take your point /nasser, on
a "Me Tarzan, you Jane" level but I'm afraid it all breaks down when
things become more complicated than that. Besides, I regard you as a
skilled deliberate-mis-user of Englis as she is writ, so you know all
that already.

As a non-English speaking person I find very unpolite to bash
grammar and syntax errors done by people who are trying to communicate
in a foreign language. Or may be Digital is not an multinational
company?

| You both assume that Sunil Sethi isn't a native English speaker. My
information is that he is. Additionally, neither myself nor the
gentleman who first pointed Sunil's subsequently denied-then-admitted
bad spelling, made any mention of any requirement for literary
excellence on anyone's part.
Kind regards, Laurie.

| If you're going to criticize someone's spelling or grammar, please
do it privately, such as by mail, rather than in public. It's
inappropriate to use the notesfile for this purpose. (It's also rude
and boorish.)
It's even gotten rather boring to see people complain about Nasser's
creative spellings.
While I firmly believe that each of us should learn to communicate
effectively, including knowing how to write grammatically and with
correct spelling, and while I cringe every time I see someone write
about "going to the customer sight", public criticism reflects worse
on the critic than on the target.

| Hi Bill, Laurie and All,
I am not the least bit offended as I know that I don't exactly have
great grammar or spelling. I tend to over look these minor things
somehow :-).
I actually speak a number of languages and English is just one of them
and it wasn't my first language for the most part of my life. I spoke
Punjabi, Hindi and Swahali (East African language) not to mention
another Indian language that I understood but couldn't speak very well
before I learnt English.
I too am disappointed that Nassar has gone it's a pity I had found a
creative noter in him. We both shared a unique way for spelling well at
least we understood what we going on about !!!!
How about getting back to the subject of the why questions ?
Regards,
Sunil

Why I feel a bit down today is because I hear that the stock price of

What can we do to help ? It seems like we are working as hard as

Its because it ALWAYS does this when the ESPP program makes it move to
buy large chunks of stock (price rises) and then ESPP auto-sell dumps a
ton of it back onto the market (price drops). June 1 was buy/sell day.
Several days before the purchase the price creeps up and then goes back
down a couple days after the purchase.
> What is happening to this great company?
What??? What are you talking about? If something were happening to
this great company then we'd have some action plans from management.
Relax, its in good hands.
