Well put it this way, I work in the group that writes ALL-IN-1 and we
haven't heard anything. I'm pretty sure that even Digital would
have told us if they'd outsourced ALL-IN-1.

Well, then it would seem like a brilliant stroke to sell it
to our arch-enemy (whoever that is) -- as long as they have
to pick up support!
(Actually, some sort of Rdb-like database for OSF/1 has been
in development for a long time, so I assume that there is a
new flavor of Rdb written in a living programming language.)

There's also a BLISS for Windows NT.

Yes, there is an "Rdb-like" database for OSF/1. It's called DEC Rdb
V6.1 -- the same one that's on OpenVMS. It's currently in field
test.

I gotta believe that there are a ton of implementation
differences.

Actually, the stuff we had to do for OSF we did for VMS too. There's
still only one code base at this time with varianted code.

| After some operating system en netwrok related products, Rdb is the
best selling software product that Digital has (rank 5) and it brings
much revenue (licences, support, hardware, consulting, projects) to the
company. Why would we want to sell this?

I'm not a techie, but I have been involved in negotiations with the
"prophetic ones".
It is my (not-so-humble) opinion that no matter how attractive the
short-term gain of such a sale might be, this would be a devastating
mistake for us.
Who would make such a decision? I'd like to share my thoughts if
he/she/they would be willing to listen....
