Monday 27 December may be a holiday wherever DPDMAI:: is, but it isn't a holiday here, nor is Friday 31 December. Whereas we do get 14 July, so long as that's not a Saturday or Sunday. | |||||

There are no legal requirements for holidays over the next few weeks in France, but a DEC memo says that individual managers have discretion to let their staff leave early this afternoon. On the other hand, Valbonne had a 24*7 support group the last time the 1-Jan occurred on a Sunday, and the law said rather literally, double pay for Sundays, and double pay for national holidays. Those people who worked that day were paid *4 I am told. |
