2801.3 | JOB MOVE.RULES???? | BLKPUD::ROWEM | Frank Gamballi's Trousers! | Fri Nov 26 1993 12:19 | 13 |
| AAHHH YES!!
THAT WAS GOING TO BE A NOTE ASKING FOR INFO/EXPERIENCE ABOUT
DEC'S POLICY IF YOUR JOB MOVES TO ANOTHER AREA.
EG.
10 MILES TO ANOTHER BUILDING WOULD BE NO SWEAT.
BUT IF YOUR JOB MOVED 250 MILES DOWN THE ROAD,WOULD YOU BE OFFERED
THE CHOICE OF RELOCATION TO THE NEW AREA,OR REDUNDANCY.
OR, WOULD YOU BE OFFERED RELOCATION OR NOTHING.I.E RESIGN?
I DECIDED NOT TO BOTHER,BUT FORGOT TO DELETE IT. OH,I SEEM TO HAVE
WRITTEN IT ANYWAY, SO WHAT THE HELL?
REGARDS MATT.

2801.4 | | KERNEL::COFFEYJ | The Uk CSC Unix Girlie. | Fri Nov 26 1993 12:26 | 18 |
| Short answer - it depends, varies from case to case.
Think it used to be likely in the UK (where you appear to be)
that reloc will be offered to people they want to move,
redundancy to others. Your choice to leave if they
want you to move and you don't though (ie: resignation
to stay in the area.
I *think* the edu move to solent was reloc or
travel costs for a year (something like that)

PS ALL CAPITALS IN NOTES is considered shouting .

Frank is one hell of a player, but a couple of years ago, on tour
with Chick Corea's Electric Band , he wore some baggy trousers with
multi coloured slits.If you can imagine!
By the way this note's a bit old hat now, as I, and most of the
north U.K. software support centre have been made redundant!
Any jobs going?????? 20 or so skilled and VERY experienced VMS and Comms
specialists going cheap.........
